A dog, a cat and a human walk into a bar…PAWS of Grays Harbor has been helping animals in our county since 1973. Their long history includes finding new homes for more than 500 animals annually and owner education. The no-kill shelter is private, relying on donations from organizations and individuals to continue their work. The Cave Bar at the Polish Club is doing their first-ever benefit comedy night with proceeds going to PAWS of Grays Harbor with “Comedy Night to the Rescue” on April 26, 2025. What could be better – laughing and helping animals, it’s a win-win for all!

While this is the bar’s first comedy benefit, they do fundraising events once every quarter. “It is fun to meet new people who have a passion for their cause and to learn more about the groups in our community,” shares Tracy Hatton, owner of The Cave Bar.
PAWS is a natural choice for the bar due to its proximity. “PAWS is our neighbor,” shares Tracy, “we see their dogs being walked daily by volunteers. This will be our second fundraising event with PAWS.”
Comedy Night in Aberdeen
Head to The Cave Bar on April 26, 2025, at 7 p.m. for “Comedy Night to the Rescue.” This 21-and-over event will have you laughing until your sides hurt with host Jes Anderson, featuring Brandon White and headliner Lisa Rimmert. Lisa is a comedian who loves dogs, making her the purrfect match for a night benefitting animals! Her clean comedy routine includes natural stories, lighthearted views on married life, being child-free, proper grammar and of course loving animals! Snarky asides and quick punchlines make her a world-class comedian right here in Grays Harbor!
Lisa has also written a book, which will be available at The Cave Bar on April 26. “Stay, My Forever Friendship with an Aging Dog,” is a memoir that’s already earned a silver Bill Fisher Award for Best First Book. Like all of us, Lisa struggled with the impending mortality of her beloved best four-legged friend. Framed with her humor, this memoir is perfect for a lazy evening cozying up to your own dog.
During “Comedy Night to the Rescue,” The Cave Bar will be offering special drinks—Bark-aritas, Whisker Sour, Meow-jitos—and food—Bark-cuterie Cups and Pawfect Pizza Bites—to get you in the mood.
The comedy show goes from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Then stay for the after-party until 1 a.m.! The Cave Bar is hoping to raise $1,000 for PAWS of Grays Harbor, which will go towards general operations as the shelter is run mostly by volunteers.
“We encourage people to pre-purchase tickets to ensure seating as we did sell out of our last show,” shares Tracy. Tickets are available on the Allevents website and at the bar.
Interested in your own fundraiser? Contact the Cave Bar! They are happy to discuss any type of community event or meeting. “In addition to our music and event room, we have access to the main event center in the Polish Club Hall that will seat over 100 people!” adds Tracy.
