Conner Gates has been selected our November Student of the Month. Conner is captain of the Aberdeen Men’s Swim and Dive program and has practiced with the Grays Harbor Swim Team for the past 11 years. Having participated as a 3 time swim and dive state participant he has also achieved Top Scholar athlete, and voted MVP.
Influenced by his mother who is a preschool teacher, Conner has done volunteer work through Aberdeen’s preschools. “I realized how important preschool is to the development of the child’s mind. I have volunteered at Hopkins Preschool, Beacon Elementary, and A.J West Elementary helping with the staff needs and the children’s needs as well.”
Conner was recently honored as AHS September Student of the Month. With a GPA of 3.864 and ranking 19th in his class he is a member of the National Honor Society. He hopes to be accepted at either Pacific University, Gonzaga University, or University of Washington. His major will be business administration and he wants to “pursue a high end internship with the Nike Corporation and work my way up the ladder of success.”
Conner is the son of Candis and Rory Gates.
