A local gas, welding and safety distributor has earned a national award from its company, Airgas, an Air Liquide company. Out of 900+ branches across the country, the Aberdeen Airgas branch was selected as one of four national branches of the year. Airgas’s 14th annual National Branch of the Year awards celebrate excellence in customer service, safety and financial performance.

In late June, Airgas senior leaders came from the company’s headquarters in Radnor, PA to spend a day in Aberdeen and Olympia celebrating the winning team. They presented the national trophy,  constructed from a three foot cylinder powder-coated platinum and mounted on a welded aluminum base. The trophies carry engraved bands with the winners’ names and are passed along each year to the next winners. Each branch associate also received a personalized award ring commemorating the achievement.

The Aberdeen branch joined Airgas through the acquisition of Thompson Welding in 1991. After the timber industry declined in the late nineties, Airgas consolidated Raymond and Aberdeen operations. A team of eight associates proudly serve customers from the Commerce Street location. The hard working employees have worked for Airgas from 18 months up to 30 years.

This friendly group partners with a cross functional team of Airgas associates in the region to address customers needs. Collectively, they help customers manage inventory of gases, welding materials and safety supplies, and share Airgas’ deep expertise in advanced fabrication, food processing, supply chain logistics and safety. Nearby distribution, account, fill plant and eBusiness managers work along with district and area management to provide added support for the branch behind the scenes.
