In our ongoing effort to provide the best retail experience in southwestern Washington, the Dennis Company in March will become part of the ACE Hardware network, the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the world.
Co-owners Brent and Randy Dennis agreed to sell the Dennis Company to Westlake ACE Hardware earlier this year. The sale is effective March 26 and the transition should be seamless.
Each of the Dennis Company’s five locations – Aberdeen, Elma, Long Beach, Montesano and Raymond – will retain the Dennis Company name, management, store associates and their unique and large product selections. The five stores employ about 85 people. As always, customers will continue to enjoy the exemplary service and care they have come to expect from the Dennis Company.
Opened in 1905, the Dennis Company has deep Washington roots and has been operated by four generations of Dennis family members. Community involvement and support has been a hallmark of the Dennis Company, and one that Westlake ACE Hardware looks forward to continuing.
Westlake ACE Hardware has been in operation for more than 100 years and, with the acquisition of the Dennis Company, it will own 121 neighborhood hardware stores in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Washington. It has been part of the ACE Hardware Cooperative since 1959 and is its largest member, and a wholly owned ACE subsidiary since 2012.
Dennis Company stores will become a division of Westlake ACE Hardware. Being part of the ACE family will give Dennis Company customers access to more than 70,000 products, both in-store and through special order.
